Desirae Krawczyk (born January 11, 1994 ) is an American tennis player .

Career

Krawczyk, whose favorite surface is the hard court according to the ITF, began playing tennis at the age of six. So far she has mainly played tournaments on the ITF Women's Circuit , where she has won five doubles titles so far, all with her partner Giuliana Olmos .

In college tennis Krawczyk plays for the team Sun Devils of Arizona State University in the Pacific-12 Conference , where she has also been selected as player of the week.

She played her first professional tournament in January 2008 in La Quinta , California at a $ 25,000 ITF tournament. From 2009 to 2015 she only played a few professional tournaments and only started as a professional player from mid-2016.

At the Stockton Challenger 2016 / women she reached the peloton as a qualifier, where she then lost in the first round 5-7 and 3-6 to her compatriot Sachia Vickery . Together with Kylie McKenzie she reached the semi-finals in doubles at the Copperwynd Pro Women's Challenge in October of the same year , where they were defeated by the pairing Samantha Crawford and Melanie Oudin in three sets with 4: 6, 6: 4 and [8:10].

From January to July 2017, Krawczyk and her permanent partner Olmos won five ITF tournaments, most recently the "Gold River Women's Challenger" in Sacramento, endowed with 60,000 US dollars . At the Citi Open 2017 , a tournament of the WTA Tour , she started together with her partner Kaitlyn Christian in the main draw of the women's doubles, but lost in the first round. A week later she and her permanent partner Giulia Olmos reached the final in doubles at the Odlum Brown Vanopen in Vancouver , which they then lost in two sets with 1: 6 and 5: 7 against the pairing Jessica Moore and Jocelyn Rae . At the Coupe Banque Nationale in Quebec , she competed with partner Jamie Loeb . The two lost after a successful first round in the second game of the main field against the top seeded pairing Tímea Babos and Andrea Sestini Hlaváčková . In the subsequent Abierto Tampico , Krawczyk went again with Jamie Loeb, reached the semifinals there. At the Hua Hin Championships 2017 , a tournament of the WTA Challenger Series 2017 , Krawczyk and Olmos reached the second round with a victory over Magdalena Fręch and Vivian Heisen , where they then beat the Chinese pairing Duan Yingying and Wang Yafan with 5 : 7, 7: 6 5 and [10:12] lost.

In 2018 she started with her permanent partner Giulia Olmos at the Oracle Challenger Series in Newport Beach , where she lost 2: 6 and 1: 6 in the first round of the women's doubles against the eventual tournament winners Misaki Doi and Jil Teichmann .
