Caroline Dolehide (born September 5, 1998 in Hinsdale , Illinois ) is an American tennis player .

Career

Dolehide, whose favorite surface is the hard court according to the ITF, began playing tennis at the age of five. So far she has mainly played tournaments on the ITF Women's Circuit , where she has so far won three titles in singles and doubles.

She played her first professional tournament in September 2013 at the $ 10,000 tournament in Hilton Head Island . She won her first singles and doubles titles in June 2016 at the Buffalo tournament .

In the junior singles of the US Open 2014 she reached the semifinals, in which she lost to the eventual winner Marie Bouzková . At the junior women competition of the Wimbledon Championships 2015 she reached the semifinals. At the junior singles of the US Open 2016 , she lost in the first round.

She received a wildcard to qualify for the women's singles at the US Open 2016 , but lost in the first round against her compatriot Melanie Oudin 4-6 and 3-6.

For the US Open 2017 , she and her partner Kayla Day received a wildcard for the women's doubles . In the first round they defeated the pairing Abigail Spears and Katarina Srebotnik , who were in 10th position, surprisingly 6: 3 and 6: 3, but were eliminated in the second round.
