Alexandra Mueller (born February 14, 1988 in Abington , Pennsylvania ) is an American tennis player .

Career

Alexandra Mueller has been playing tennis since she was five, preferring the clay court. She mainly plays tournaments of the ITF Women's Circuit , where she has won seven singles and 21 doubles titles so far.

She won her first $ 10,000 tournament at Mont Tremblant when she was 15 . Then she received a wildcard for her first WTA tournament, the Bell Challenge 2003 , where she failed in the first qualifying round.

In 2004 she received a wildcard for the qualifications for the Cellular South Cup , the JPMorgan Chase Open , the Bell Challenge and the qualification for the US Open , where she failed in the first round.

Until 2008 she took part in several qualifications for other WTA tournaments, but could not achieve any major success. In 2009 and 2010 she played exclusively ITF tournaments again. She reached her highest world ranking position to date in July 2009 with place 280. In qualifying for the US Open in 2010, she failed again in the first qualifying round.

Her greatest success on the WTA Tour 2011 she was able to celebrate as a qualifier when she reached the main round of the Citi Open 2011 , where she was eliminated in the first round against Nadja Petrowa, who was number 2 . In the same year she celebrated her greatest success by winning three $ 50,000 tournaments in doubles, which brought her to position 160 in the doubles world rankings at the end of September 2011.

In the following years she focused on ITF tournaments and celebrated other titles in doubles.
