Maria Fernanda Alves (born April 17, 1983 in Florianópolis , Santa Catarina ) is a former Brazilian tennis player .

Career

Alves, who started playing tennis at the age of four , prefers the clay court , according to the ITF . She mainly plays in tournaments of the ITF Women's Circuit , where she has won 23 singles and 58 doubles titles.

The first time on the WTA Tour , she went to qualify for the Tier IV tournament in São Paulo ; she lost in the first round 3: 6 and 1: 6 against the Spaniard Ainhoa ​​Goni . In 2000 she entered the qualification again at the same tournament and was eliminated again in round one with 1: 6, 6: 4 and 2: 6 against her compatriot Miriam D'Agostini .
