Heidi El Tabakh (born September 25, 1986 in Alexandria , Egypt ) is a former Canadian tennis player . She played for Egypt until 2005 .

Career

Her family emigrated to Canada when she was eight years old. Soon after arriving in Florida, she began playing tennis. She trained at Nick Bollettieri's tennis academy in Tampa, Florida.

El Tabakh has won seven singles and ten doubles titles in ITF tournaments so far . At the French Open she was in the main field in 2010 and 2012, but she did not get past the first round.

For Egypt , she played three Fed Cup games (two singles, one double) in 2013 , all of which she won.

Heidi El Tabakh has not been in the world rankings since the end of January 2017.
