Jelena Olegovna Bowina ( Russian Елена Олеговна Бовина ; born March 10, 1983 in Moscow , Soviet Union ) is a former Russian tennis player .

Career

Jelena Bowina, who started the professional tour in 1998, won her first WTA tournaments in Warsaw and Québec in 2002 . A year later, another title win followed at the WTA tournament in New Haven .

She celebrated her greatest success in 2004 at the Australian Open alongside Nenad Zimonjić , with whom she won the mixed title there.

As of October 2012, Bowina only played one match (in October 2014) on the women's tour. In 2013 she was no longer listed in the world rankings . She achieved her best ranking in singles and doubles with position 14.

From 2001 to 2005 she also played seven games for the Russian Fed Cup team . She celebrated five wins, three of them in singles. In 2005 she was on the team that won the Fed Cup.
