Lilia Osterloh (born April 7, 1978 in Columbus , Ohio ) is a former American tennis player .

Career

Osterloh, who started tennis at the age of six, preferred the hard court.

In her career she was three times in a semi-finals and eleven times in the quarter-finals of the WTA Tour . She achieved her best results in Grand Slam tournaments in 2001 at Wimbledon and at the US Open , where she reached the last sixteen.

In their match record there are victories u. a. about Arantxa Sánchez Vicario , Mary Pierce , Nadja Petrowa , Amanda Coetzer , Conchita Martínez , Anna Kurnikowa and Marion Bartoli .

Osterloh played her last game on the WTA Tour in June 2011 in the doubles competition in Copenhagen at the side of Emma Laine , where the pairing was eliminated in the first round.

Personal

Her father Linus , a retired teacher, is of German descent. Some of the relatives still live in Oldenburg . In addition to English, Lilia Osterloh speaks German. She lives in San Francisco .
