trainer

In 2017, Martínez, who was then the Spanish Fed Cup team leader at the time, coached her compatriot Garbiñe Muguruza at the tournament in Wimbledon after her actual coach was unable to attend due to family obligations. Muguruza won the tournament after a two-set win in the final against the American Venus Williams . Both the player and the media attributed Martínez to a major contributor to Muguruza's success.

Since 2018 Martínez has been the full-time trainer for the Czech top ten player Karolína Plíšková . With the beginning of the 2020 season, she works again as a trainer for Garbiñe Muguruza.
