Jelena Lichowzewa 2006 at the Australian Open
Jelena Alexandrovna Lichowzewa ( Russian Елена Александровна Лиховцева ; born September 8, 1975 in Alma-Ata , Kazakh SSR , Soviet Union ) is a former Kazakh and Russian tennis player .
Career
She turned pro in 1992 at the age of 16 and represented Kazakhstan until 1995, although most recently she lived in Moscow.
Her best result in a Grand Slam tournament in singles was the semi-finals of the French Open in 2005. She also reached the finals in women's doubles at the Australian Open and the French Open in 2004 and the US Open in 2000 and 2004 .
Lichowzewa won a total of 27 WTA titles in doubles and was number 3 in the WTA world rankings in 2004 .
With Mahesh Bhupathi she won the mixed competition at Wimbledon in 2002 and reached the final there in 2006 together with Daniel Nestor , with whom she also made it into the final of the French Open in 2003 and 2006.
Between 1995 and 2004 she played a total of 42 games for the Russian Fed Cup team , of which she was able to win 26.
