Patricia Wartusch (born August 5, 1978 in Innsbruck ) is a former Austrian tennis player .

Career

Patricia Wartusch won two singles tournaments on the WTA Tour in her professional career ; in doubles there were six, five with her Hungarian doubles partner Petra Mandula . The first individual title she secured in 2000 in Bogotá , the second in 2002 in WTA Casablanca , both on clay. She reached her highest position in the world rankings in singles in 2000 with 65th place, in doubles in 2003 with 22nd place. With her entry into the third round of the Wimbledon Championships , she also achieved the best result in a Grand Slam tournament in 2000 .

The Tyrolean also played for Austria in the Fed Cup . She reached the semi-finals with the team in 2002 and 2004, losing 3-2 to Spain in 2002 and 5-0 to Russia in 2004 - after a 4-1 victory over the United States in the quarter-finals. Their record shows six wins and twelve defeats. Wartusch was involved in the greatest successes of the ÖTV in the Fed Cup.

In 2005 Patricia Wartusch ended her professional career after retiring from the Australian Open .
