Janette Husárová (born June 4, 1974 in Bratislava ) is a former Slovak tennis player .
Career
Husárová celebrated her greatest success in 2002 when she won the WTA Tour Championships alongside Jelena Dementjewa . In the same year she reached the final of the US Open with Dementjewa . In 2003 it was number 3 in the double world rankings and in the same year also achieved its highest single ranking with position 31. With various double partners, she won 25 WTA titles, four each with Dementjewa and Tathiana Garbin .
In 2002 Husárová was a member of the victorious Slovak team that won the Fed Cup . She secured her team the third and decisive point with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Arantxa Sánchez Vicario . In April 2014 she won for Slovakia in the 1: 3 defeat in the play-off against Canada with her one-two at the side of Anna Karolína Schmiedlová the only point. This improved her Fed Cup record to 17 wins out of 12 losses.
In 2010 Husárová announced her end of career, but in August 2011 she returned to the tour. At the beginning of 2013 she tried her hand at WTA tournaments for the first time since May 2009 in singles. After failing twice in the qualification, she then competed again exclusively in doubles. With two semi-finals in the 2014 season, she was back in the top 50 of the double rankings in July. From mid-September 2014 she took another break from the tournament. In January 2016 Husárová finally ended her career and became the coach of the Slovak Fed Cup team.
