Natalija Medwedjewa ( Ukrainian Наталія Медведєва , Russian Наталья Олеговна Медведева ; born November 15, 1971 in Kiev , then Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a former Ukrainian tennis player . She is the older sister of Andrij Medwedjew (also a former tennis professional, was in the 1999 final of the French Open ).
Career
In 1997 Medvedeva won the junior doubles competitions of the French Open and Wimbledon , each with Natallja Swerawa as a doubles partner.
At the age of 16 she switched to the professional tour. In her career, Medvedeva won four singles and twelve doubles titles on the WTA Tour . There were also four tournament victories at ITF level in singles and six in doubles.
Between 1991 and 2000 she appeared in 16 games for the Ukrainian Fed Cup team ; she got eight victories.
In 1998 Natalija Medvedeva ended her career on the women's tour.
