Jo Durie (born July 27, 1960 in Bristol ) is a former British tennis player .

Career

She became a professional tennis player in 1978 and reached the semi-finals of the French Open and the US Open as a single player in 1983 . She was also a Grand Slam quarter-finalist at the 1983 Australian Open and 1984 at Wimbledon . It reached its highest position in the individual world rankings in 1982 with 5th place.

With Jeremy Bates she won the mixed competition at Wimbledon in 1987 and the mixed competition at the Australian Open in 1991. She also won four double titles in her career.

Jo Durie retired from professional tennis in 1995. After her career she works for television, she regularly comments on games on the WTA Tour for Eurosport International . She still plays at invitation tournaments such as B. the senior women doubles at Wimbledon.
