Magdaléna Rybáriková (born October 4, 1988 in Piešťany , Czechoslovakia ) is a Slovak tennis player .

Career

Rybáriková, who started tennis at the age of seven, has been playing for the Slovak Fed Cup team since 2005 . After her 26 Fed Cup games so far, she won 15 times.

In individual , she won the previous four WTA and nine ITF tournaments. In doubles , she can show one WTA and one ITF title. In 2010 she stood alongside Alexandra Dulgheru for the first time in the round of 16 of the US Open , in 2014 she reached the semi-finals of Wimbledon with Andrea Petković .

In the 2009 season, which she finished as 46th in the WTA world rankings , Rybáriková won her first individual title on the WTA Tour in Birmingham . She secured the second title in February 2011 in Memphis . For a long time, she achieved her best results in a Grand Slam tournament at the US Open , where she made it through to the third round twice. She was defeated there in 2008 by Patty Schnyder and in 2009 by Venus Williams in two sets.

In May 2012 Rybáriková won her first WTA tournament in doubles on the side of Janette Husárová in Budapest. In August 2012, Rybáriková won her third WTA title in Washington when she defeated Anastassija Pavlyuchenkova in the final there. Exactly one year later to the day, she defended him with a 6: 4, 7: 6 2 final win over Andrea Petković. Seven times in a row, a total of eight times, Rybáriková was eliminated in the first round at Wimbledon. In 2015 she reached the third round there, and in 2017 the semifinals.
