Bitez is a municipality in the Bodrum district of the Turkish province of Muğla .

location

The place, which used to be called Ağaçlı (in English: rich in trees ) is located on the south coast of the Bodrum Peninsula and borders Ortakent in the west, Konacık in the north and Gümbet in the east . In the north, the place can be reached by the main road from Bodrum and Turgutreis or Yalıkavak ; in the south the coastal road runs to Ortakent beach or to Gümbet.

Districts

Bitez is split in two. The main town lies inland, while on the coast there is a beach settlement with mainly tourist facilities. In between, the area is still used for agriculture; you can find tangerine and olive groves .

Attractions

There are remains of an old Greek chapel.
