Yalıkavak is a small coastal town on the Bodrum peninsula in southwest Turkey . The community consists of the central town and eight other districts or villages.

location

Yalıkavak is connected to the district capital Bodrum by a main road. The municipality borders the Aegean Sea to the west . Neighboring communities are Gündoğan (in the northeast) and Gümüşlük (in the southeast).

population

In 2007 Yalıkavak had 8,701 inhabitants. This means that the population has more than doubled since 1990.

economy

Today the main industry is tourism . The place has a marina . Numerous holiday homes have been built on the surrounding slopes.
