The WTA Tour 2020 is the 50th year of the women 's tennis tournament series hosted by the Women's Tennis Association .
Like the Grand Slam tournaments, the Fed Cup team competition is not organized by the WTA but by the ITF . It is listed here anyway, as the top players usually play this tournament too.
There was a major interruption in gaming operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic . From mid-March to the end of July, all tournaments were either canceled or postponed. On June 17, 2020, the WTA presented a provisionally revised tournament calendar for the rest of the season, which provided for the resumption of play with the tournaments in Palermo at the beginning of August.
Tour information
Changes

- The tournaments WTA Bad Homburg and WTA Lyon are new to the tournament calendar.
- The tournaments WTA Adelaide and WTA Berlin are back in the tournament calendar.
- The WTA Doha and WTA Dubai tournaments are again swapping categories.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , several WTA Tour tournaments have been canceled, including Indian Wells, the Miami Open, the tournament in Charleston and the one in Bogotá.
