Zhuhai tennis complex

The WTA Elite Trophy has been a women's tennis tournament that has been held by the WTA at the end of each year since 2015 . The event, which took place in the Chinese city of Zhuhai until 2019 , replaced the Tournament of Champions , which took place from 2009 to 2014 .

qualification

Eligible to participate are twelve single tennis players who, at the end of October , had six double pairings in the WTA world rankings in places 9 to 20 and places 9 to 14. A total of US $ 2,150,000 in prize money will be played out.

mode

The individual competition is held in four groups with three players each, the four group winners are qualified for the semi-finals. The six double pairings each play a group winner in two groups, who qualifies directly for the final.
