Sedliacka Dubová (Hungarian Parasztdubova ) is a municipality in northern Slovakia in Okres Dolný Kubín within Žilinský kraj with 536 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).
geography
The village is located in the middle of the Orava landscape , geomorphologically within the Oravská vrchovina mountain range on the middle course of the Orava , which here includes the left-hand Chlebnický potok and the right-hand Dubovský potok . The terrain is mountainous in the southern and central part of the municipality and mountainous in the north within the Oravská Magura Mountains . Forests occur in the higher elevations. The highest point of the municipality is the mountain Holý grúň in the Oravská Magura with 1082 m nm. The town center is at an altitude of 530 m nm and is 14.5 kilometers from Dolný Kubín and 16.5 kilometers from Tvrdošín .
Neighboring communities are Babín in the north, Dlhá nad Oravou in the east, Chlebnice in the south and Horná Lehota in the west.
history
In the municipality of Sedliacka Dubová there was one fortified settlement from the late Hallstatt period and one from the Puchau culture of the turn of the century.
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1397 as Dubowa and at that time belonged as a subject village to the dominion of the Arwaburg and was under the administration of the founder of Dlhá. In 1683 Sedliacka Dubová suffered great damage due to the Kuruzenkriege. In 1772, after the introduction of the Theresian land register, the first election of the judges took place, and the community had a seal made for itself with the inscription " DUBOWA COLONORUM 1772 ". In the same year the village had 62 houses and 332 inhabitants. In 1808 and again in 1813 two floods caused severe damage. In 1828 there were 69 houses and 472 inhabitants who were employed as farmers at that time.
The place in Arwa County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then became part of Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. After the establishment of Czechoslovakia, the local volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1925 and a new school was built in 1936. 28 residents took part in the Slovak National Uprising .

According to the 2011 census, there were 512 residents in Sedliacka Dubová, including 499 Slovaks , two Poles and one Bulgarian . One resident indicated another ethnic group and eight residents gave no information about the ethnic group .
489 residents supported the Roman Catholic Church, three residents supported the Seventh-day Adventist Church and two residents supported the Evangelical Church AB. 11 residents were non-denominational and seven residents had no denomination.

Sedliacka Dubová is located along the 1st order road 59 ( E 77 ) from Dolný Kubín to the Polish border near Trstená and there is a stop on the Kraľovany – Trstená railway line .
