Osádka (Hungarian Oszádka ) is a municipality in the north-center of Slovakia with 167 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which is located in the Okres Dolný Kubín within the Žilinský kraj and at the same time in the traditional Orava landscape .
geography
The municipality is located in the southeastern part of the Oravská vrchovina mountain range in the source area of the Leštinský creek , at the transition to the southern Chočské vrchy mountain range . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 670 m nm and is 9.5 kilometers from Dolný Kubín .
Neighboring municipalities are Pokryváč in the north, Malatiná in the east, Lúčky in the south, Leštiny in the west and Dolný Kubín ( Srňacie district ) in the northwest.
history
Osádka was first mentioned in writing in 1381 as de Superiore Leszina , which, like other surrounding places, belonged to the territory of the Arwaburg . In 1548 the Zmeškal family came into possession of Osádka, together with the neighboring towns of Leštiny and Srňacie. In the course of the 17th century, the village suffered from the constant presence of troops in the course of the class revolts. In 1828 there were 49 houses and 271 inhabitants who were employed as cattle farmers and especially shepherds.
The place in Arwa County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then became part of Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, there were 138 inhabitants in Osádka, 135 of them Slovaks . Three residents did not provide any information about their ethnicity .
82 residents committed themselves to the Evangelical Church AB, 29 residents to the Roman Catholic Church and one resident to the Czechoslovak Hussite Church. 11 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 15 residents was not determined.
