In the individual, however, Sabalenka's form flattened out, which until the start of the American hard court season could only reach a semi-final in Strasbourg and failed in Paris in the second, in Wimbledon already in the opening round, only once before it reached its second season finale in San José , but that she lost to Zheng Saisai . Sabalenka landed the greatest success of her career when she won her first Grand Slam title in the doubles competition at the US Open after beating Wiktoryja Asaranka and Ashleigh Barty in the final . Together with Mertens, she took part in the double decision of the WTA Championships in Shenzhen for the first time at the end of the year .
