Gabriela Dabrowski (born April 1, 1992 in Ottawa ) is a Canadian tennis player .
Career
Dabrowski, who prefers hard courts, began playing tennis at the age of seven. When her parents saw their daughter's talent for the sport, she started taking training lessons at the Ottawa Athletic Club. She won her first tournament at the age of nine, the U10 Future Stars Championships. Later Dabrowski moved to Wesley Chapel , Florida , to the Saddlebrook Tennis Academy, where she found training conditions according to international standards. At the age of twelve, she took third place at the U12 Orange Bowl . Further successes in her youth were the "Canadian U14 Nationals" at the age of 13, the U14 tournament "Les Petits As" in Tarbes in February 2006 , the "Canadian U18 Nationals" when she was 15 years old, and the 2009 Orange Bowl .
She played her first tournament on the WTA Tour in 2008 at the side of Sharon Fichman at the Rogers Cup . In 2013 she reached the final of the doubles competition at the Brussels Open and the Generali Ladies Linz . In August 2014, she celebrated her first WTA title when she defeated the Japanese pairing Hiroko Kuwata / Kurumi Nara in the final of the Washington tournament alongside Shūko Aoyama .
In 2013, she first appeared for the Canadian Fed Cup team . Your Fed Cup balance (as of March 2018) shows five wins and seven losses.
