Stephanie Vogt (born February 15, 1990 in Vaduz ) is a former Liechtenstein tennis player .

Career

Vogt took part in tournaments on the WTA Tour from 2006 . She achieved her best placings in the WTA world rankings in 2014 with rank 137 in singles and in 2016 with rank 69 in doubles. She was the only player in her country who was in the world rankings alongside Kathinka von Deichmann .

Vogt has also played for the Liechtenstein Fed Cup team since 2006 ; their record shows 23 wins out of 18 defeats.

In 2007 she won the gold medal in singles and silver in doubles at the Games of the Small States of Europe . In the same year she was voted Liechtenstein Sportswoman of the Year , and in 2010 she received this award again. In 2011 she won at the Games of the Small States of Europe in addition to the gold medal in singles, doubles and mixed games; In 2013 she was able to repeat these successes.

On March 31, 2008, the ITF announced that Vogt would receive one of two invitations to be awarded for the women's singles at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. However, an injury to her right knee required surgery, so she decided not to attend. Vogt received another wildcard from the ITF for the 2012 Olympic tournament in London; she was also the flag bearer of the Liechtenstein team at the opening ceremony.

On October 20, 2013, Vogt finally celebrated winning her first WTA title when she won the doubles competition at the side of Yanina Wickmayer at the BNP Paribas Luxembourg Open .

She played her last official match at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. During the games, she announced her retirement from professional sport.
