Viktorija Golubic (born October 16, 1992 in Zurich ) is a Swiss tennis player with Croatian and Serbian roots.
Career
Golubic, who prefers to play on hard courts, is supervised by the Robert Orlik Tennis Academy . In singles, she has won a WTA tournament, a WTA Challenger Series tournament and nine ITF tournaments; in doubles she has so far secured 14 titles on the ITF tour.
Golubic celebrated her greatest success so far on the WTA Tour in July 2016 by winning the tournament in Gstaad . In 2014 she entered the qualifying round for the first time at the Australian Open , but failed in round one; The same thing happened to her at the other Grand Slam tournaments . 2015 came in Melbourne in qualifying round two. In 2016 she was there for the first time in the main draw of such a tournament; she lost in round one to Carla Suárez Navarro in straight sets.
In 2014 Golubic played for the Swiss Fed Cup team for the first time ; their Fed Cup record shows so far 7 wins out of 7 defeats.
