Stéphanie Foretz (born May 3, 1981 in Issy-les-Moulineaux ) is a former French tennis player .

Career

Stéphanie Foretz started playing tennis at the age of eight. Your preferred surface is the hard court. From the end of 1997 she competed in ITF tournaments. In 1999 she was at the French Open for the first time in the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament . But in both singles and doubles, she did not get past the first round. Her outstanding result was the quarter-finals of the doubles competition of the US Open in 2007 together with Jaroslawa Schwedowa .

In total, she has already won nine singles and 16 doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit . So far, however, she has been denied a title on the WTA Tour .

She was used in two matches (2002, 2012) for the French Fed Cup team .

Personal

In 2010 she married Benoit Gacon, who was also her trainer temporarily, and from then on went to the start as Stéphanie Foretz Gacon . In 2014 she reversed this and competed under her maiden name again until she retired in September 2016.
