Wichljanzewa, who, according to the ITF profile, prefers to play on hard courts, began playing tennis at the age of seven. For the Shenzhen Open she received in 2015 by the tournament organization a wild card with which they could play in the main draw of a WTA tournament for the first time. She defeated Anna-Lena Friedsam in the first round and reached the round of 16.
In January 2016 she won her first ITF double title. In the double world ranking, she reached her previous record on July 22, 2019 with position 216. She won her first individual title in Pilsen in August of that year; it then ranked 210 in the individual world rankings. In October 2017, it marked a new best ranking with position 54.
In 2017 Wichljanzewa played for the Russian Fed Cup team for the first time ; their Fed Cup record shows so far six wins in one defeat.
