Manfred Dietrich

Manfred Dietrich (born September 12, 1943 in Leipzig ) is a German theater director.

Productions

He staged the plays written by the playwright Peter Hacks at the Greifswald Theater

  • "Polly or the Bataille in Bluewater Creek", 1980 with music by Andre Asriel ,
  • "A conversation in the Stein house about the absent Mr. Goethe", 1981,
  • “Die Kinder”, world premiere in 1983
  • and "Der Geldgott", first performance in 1993,

and at the Brandenburg Theater

  • "Polly", 1986 and
  • "Barby" 1988.

Dietrich directed the playwright Anna Elisabeth Wiede at the Greifswald Theater

  • "Die Ratten von Hameln", written in 1959, premiered in 1979 in Greifswald and
  • “A friend of the truth”, based on William Wycherley , first performed in the GDR in 1986.

From 2000 to 2002, Dietrich directed a cycle of three one-day events at Griebenow Castle on the novel “ Trilogy of Failure ” by Wolfgang Koeppen .

Dietrich has been running a video production company in Greifswald since 1998.
