Teliana Pereira (born July 20, 1988 in Águas Belas ) is a Brazilian tennis player .
Career
Pereira, who started tennis at the age of nine and prefers hard courts, initially played mainly on the ITF Women's Circuit . So far she has won 22 singles and 10 doubles titles at ITF tournaments.
In April 2007 she played in Buenos Aires against Argentina for the first time for Brazil in the Fed Cup ; their record so far shows 26 wins out of ten defeats.
In July 2013 she became the first Brazilian woman since 1990 to be in the top 100 of the world rankings . In 2014 she qualified for the first time in the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament at the Australian Open , but failed in round one in singles and doubles. At the French Open , she survived the opening round for the first time.
In February 2013 she reached the semi-finals at the WTA tournament in Bogotá . However , she only celebrated her first title win on the WTA Tour more than two years later at the same tournament, when she defeated Jaroslawa Schwedowa in straight sets. At the clay court tournament in Florianópolis , she won her second title on August 1, 2015 with a final victory over the German Annika Beck . With this, it improved to place 48 in the individual ranking for the first time among the top 50.
