Nikola "Niki" Hofmanova (born February 3, 1991 in Chomutov , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Austrian tennis player with Czech roots.

life and career

Her family moved to Hornstein in Burgenland . Hofmanova has been playing tennis since the age of three. Along with Tamira Paszek, she was considered a great young talent in Austrian tennis. From 2003 to 2010 she was trained by Jan Kukal , most recently her father Martin Hofman coached her.

Until mid-2008 Hofmanova mainly competed in youth tournaments. Her greatest successes there were winning the Orange Bowl in 2006 and the ITF Bangkok Metropolitan in 2007. In 2007 she was number 4 in the ITF's U18 world rankings.

On the ladies tour she won the 2008 Future tournament at UTC LaVille in Vienna and reached the final at the Challenger tournament in Qarshi . 2009 was her most successful year on the tour. She won the $ 50,000 Challenger tournament in Fukuoka and made it to the finals of the tournaments in Nagano and Bukhara . She also became Austrian indoor champion in singles. Her greatest success in 2010 was again reaching the finals at the $ 50,000 Challenger tournament in Fukuoka.

In 2006 and 2009 she played a total of four games for the Austrian Fed Cup team .

She did not appear on the tour between June 2012 and July 2014. In 2013 she was no longer listed in the world rankings , at the end of 2014 she was in individual position 1243.

In the summer of 2015 Hofmanova played three ITF tournaments in Austria; but since the end of August 2015 she has not started the women's tour again.
