Alrosa Airlines ( Russian АО Авиакомпания АЛРОСА ) is a Russian airline based at Mirny Airport in the Sakha Republic . It was founded in 1992 as Alrosa Mirny Air Enterprise . The airline was given its current name as part of a restructuring in early 2013, in which the maintenance on the ground and the operation of several smaller airports in northeast Russia were separated from the flight business. The airline is a subsidiary of the mining company ALROSA , based in Mirny .

As a special feature, Alrosa operated the last of its three Tupolev Tu-134B with the registration number RA-65693 until spring 2019 . This aircraft performed the last regular passenger flight of this type on May 22, 2019.

In September 2014, the airline signed a one-year lease agreement with Yakutia Airlines for a De Havilland DHC-8-400 aircraft . This aircraft was still on the fleet page of the Alrosa Airlines website in July 2016

In August 2013 it became known that Lufthansa Technik would take over the component supply for the new Boeing 737NG fleet.

Incidents

  • On September 7, 2010, a Tu-154 ( registration number : RA-85684) of the airline had to make an emergency landing at the abandoned military airfield Ischma in the Komi Republic in Russia after a serious technical defect . Before that, the entire on-board electronics had failed at an altitude of 10,000 meters. In addition, the brake flaps did not work, so that the aircraft had to land at too high a speed on the runway, which is too short at 1,200 meters. The machine sped 200 meters over the runway. All 72 passengers on board and 9 crew members survived the landing unharmed. The two pilots Andrei Lamanow and Evgeny Novosselow were honored with the honorary title Hero of the Russian Federation on November 16, 2010 . The machine was pulled back onto the runway and started on March 24, 2011 after minor repairs in the direction of Uchta. The start took place on the 1200 meter long runway covered with snow and ice. After only 800 meters, the machine took off safely, flown by two test pilots. After a major technical inspection, the machine was in service until November 2018, when it was flown over to Novosibirsk-Tolmachovo and made ready for an exhibition there.
