The airport Novosibirsk Tolmatschjowo ( Russian Аэропорт Толмачёво / Aeroport Tolmatschjowo , IATA code : OVB, ICAO UNNT:) has been the closure of Novosibirsk Severny in February 2011 the only airport of the third biggest Russian city of Novosibirsk , an industrial and research city in Siberia .

history

The airport, a good 15 km west of the city center, was put into operation on July 12, 1957 with the first passenger flight of a Tupolev Tu-104 to Moscow as an extension of an already existing military airfield. Until 1992, the airport belonged to the United Aviation Company Tolmachyovo (Tolmatschjowski objedinjonny awiaotrjad) and the Russian Ministry of Civil Aviation. In 1995 the airport was transferred to a joint stock company, in which the Russian state held 51% until 2011. Novaport bought this stake in a privatization in 2011 for 2.8 billion rubles. Together with the minority stake of 38%, which the investment company had already acquired in 2004, they held well over 80% through various structures. At the end of 2015, the Russian airport operating company Novaport increased its stake in the airport to 100%.

Tolmatschjowo Airport has two 3,600 m long runways. The second, running at right angles to the original, went into operation on September 25, 2010. The international terminal was opened in 1997, an extension of the old domestic passenger terminal in 2006. 61 stands are available for aircraft.

The airport was the first in Russia to receive the ISO-9002-96 certificate in 2002 . In 2014, the airport recorded over 3.96 million passengers. Of these, 1.53 million passengers were on international flights and 2.43 million passengers on national connections.

exhibition

At the airport there is an exhibition with a Mi-8 and an Il-86, an older one, as well as a Tu-154M , which was handed over in 2018 and famous for an emergency landing , as well as the Tupolev Tu-134B , which will be the last regular passenger flight on May 22, 2019 Tu-134 carried out and landed in Tolmachovo with 72 passengers.
