Luisa Stefani (born August 9, 1997 in São Paulo ) is a Brazilian tennis player .

Career

Stefani started playing tennis at the age of ten, her preferred surface is sand. She mainly plays on the ITF Women's World Tennis Tour , where she has won 12 doubles titles so far.

She played her first professional tournament in April 2013 in her hometown of São Paulo, where she made it to the semi-finals at the ITF tournament endowed with $ 10,000, losing 3: 6 and 5: 7 to her compatriot Roxane Vaisemberg .

She first appeared on the WTA Tour in 2014 . She received a wildcard to qualify for the Rio Open 2014 , but lost her opening match in three sets against Julia Glushko . At the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games , she reached the mixed quarter-finals with her partner Orlando Luz .

In 2015 she received a wildcard for the Brasil Tennis Cup 2015 in Florianópolis in both singles and doubles with her partner Carolina M. Alves . In singles she lost to Ana Bogdan 3: 6 and 2: 6, in doubles the two also failed in the first round against the top seeded pairing Mandy Minella and María Teresa Torró Flor with 4: 6 and 2: 6.

At the NCAA Division I Tennis Championships 2016 in May 2016, Stefani reached the semi-finals in singles. In qualifying for the Brasil Tennis Cup 2016 , she failed in her first round match against Ljudmyla Kitschenok with 3: 6 and 2: 6. As in 2015, she received a wildcard with her partner Carolina M. Alves for the main draw in doubles.

In 2017 Stefani won a total of seven double titles. She has played in the Brazilian Fed Cup team since 2017 , where she has won all of her games so far (8 wins).
