Julia Elbaba (born June 13, 1994 ) is an American tennis player .

Career

Elbaba began playing tennis at the age of nine and so far has mainly played on the ITF Women's Circuit , where she has already won a tournament in singles.

Elbaba played her first ITF tournament in Landisville in May 2011 , reached her first semi-finals in Evansville in July 2012 and won her first tournament in New Orleans a week later . In 2013 she played a total of seven tournaments, but this year she never got past the second round. In October she lost at the $ 50,000 tournament in New Braunfels against Anna Tatishvili in the round of 16 with 3: 6 and 2: 6.

At the NCAA Division I Tennis Championships 2014 , she failed in both singles and doubles in the first round. At the American Collegiate Invitational 2014 she reached the finals in the singles, where she was defeated by Jamie Loeb 5-7 and 1-6. At the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships 2014 she was the winner in the women's singles .

In 2015 she reached the second round in women's singles at the NCAA Division I Tennis Championships , at the American Collegiate Invitational she failed in the first round, and at the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships she reached the quarter-finals. In August 2016 she reached the final of Landisville, which she lost to Laura Robson without a game .

On the WTA Tour she received a wildcard for the qualification for the Connecticut Open for the first time , but already lost in the first round against Kateryna Bondarenko 3: 6 and 2: 6.
