Nicole Melichar (born July 29, 1993 in Brno , Czech Republic ) is an American tennis player .
Career
Melichar, who started tennis at the age of five, prefers hard courts according to the ITF profile. In October 2008 she played her first game on the ITF Women's Circuit , where she has now won two singles and seven doubles titles. She also won seven double titles on the WTA Tour and one in the WTA Challenger Series. In February 2019, she reached her best ranking in the world rankings to date with 12th place in doubles .
She had her first main field participation in a Grand Slam tournament in 2012 at the US Open , when she was eliminated in the mixed doubles in the first round. In 2016, she was in the second round of such a tournament for the first time in the double competition at the US Open .
In 2019 Melichar played for the US Fed Cup team for the first time ; she lost her only game so far.
