Alena Fomina ( Ukrainian Альона Фоміна ; born July 5, 1989 in Sevastopol ) is a Ukrainian - Russian tennis player who has been playing for Russia since November 2017.
Career
Fomina started playing tennis at the age of four and prefers hard courts. She has played mainly on the ITF Women's Circuit since 2006 , where she has won one singles and 24 doubles titles so far.
On the WTA Tour she made her debut in the doubles competition of the Topshelf Open 2014 , where she and Christina Shakovets lost 6-0 and 6-0 against the pairing Marija Kirilenko / Yanina Wickmayer .
She achieved her best world rankings in April 2017 with rank 520 in singles and in July 2018 with position 155 in doubles.
