Wang Yan ( Chinese  王妍 , Pinyin Wáng Yán , IPA ( standard Chinese) [ wǎŋ jɛ̌n ]; born January 1, 1996 ) is a Chinese tennis player .

Career

Wang started tennis when he was ten and prefers hard courts. She mainly plays on the ITF Women's Circuit , where she has so far won two tournaments in singles and four in doubles.

Wang played her first professional tournament in July 2012 in Huzhu . At the beginning of 2013 she was listed for the first time in the world rankings, her first major successes she achieved at the end of 2013 with the two round of 16 appearances at the tournaments endowed with 25,000 US dollars in Monterrey and Merida . She reached her first quarter-finals at a tournament in Shenzhen in March 2014, her first final in Tarakan in July 2014. With further good results, she made it to place 500 in the world rankings by the end of 2014.

On the WTA Tour , she made her first appearance at the $ 125,000 WTA Challenger Ningbo , a tournament of the WTA Challenger Series , where she reached the quarter-finals. With this and other good successes at the beginning of 2015, she achieved her best individual world ranking in March 2015 with place 359. In July 2016 she won her first two tournaments in Gimcheon .

In June 2017, she played her last professional match so far.
