Career

Scholl began playing tennis at the age of five. She primarily plays at tournaments of the ITF Women's Circuit , where she won the singles and doubles title at two tournaments in El Paso and Lexington in 2011 and a total of ten singles and 19 doubles titles.

She played her first professional tournament in April 2008 in Palm Beach Gardens . Her first match win came six months later at the tournament in St. Louis and in July 2010 she was in the final of an individual competition for the first time; in Evansville she was defeated by the Venezuelan Gabriela Paz 4: 6 and 0: 6.

In 2011 she reached the second round of qualification for the US Open , where she was only slightly defeated by Andrea Hlaváčková in three sets 6: 7, 6 , 6: 4 and 1: 6. In September of the same year Scholl appeared for the first time at a tournament on the WTA Tour ; when she started the Bell Challenge but failed in the qualifying round.

In 2012 she recorded her greatest success so far in singles at the Nuremberg Gastein Ladies . There she reached the quarter-finals as a qualifier, in which she lost to Xenija Perwak 4: 6 and 1: 6. In the same year she reached the semi-finals at the $ 100,000 tournament in Vancouver , which she lost to Mallory Burdette 2-6 and 3-6 .

In 2012 and 2013 she competed in all Grand Slam tournaments , but never got past the first or second qualifying round. Until 2015, Scholl did not achieve any notable successes in other tournaments. Her greatest success in doubles came in 2013 when she made it to the semi-finals of the Nuremberg Gastein Ladies , where she and her doubles partner Tamara Čurović lost to the eventual tournament winners Sandra Klemenschits and Andreja Klepač .

In February 2016, she was able to build on earlier successes in singles at the $ 25,000 tournament in Surprise by moving into the semi-finals. There she was defeated by her compatriot Catherine Bellis 3: 6 and 0: 6.
