The 1.78 m tall, right-handed woman took part in ITF tournaments for the first time in 2006 . In September 2012 she became a professional player and in the same year she won the ITF tournaments in Evansville and Vancouver .
In 2012, Burdette was in the main round of a WTA tournament for the first time . In that year she reached the third round in Stanford and round two in Linz . In 2013 she was in the third round of the WTA tournaments in Indian Wells and Charleston . In 2012 she was able to advance to the third round at the US Open ; it was her best result in a Grand Slam tournament .
In October 2014 she ended her professional career at the age of just 23 due to an injury.
