Carol Zhao (born June 20, 1995 in Beijing or Chongqing , China ) is a Canadian tennis player .

Career

Zhao is nine-time Canadian junior champion tennis and plays for the Stanford University in College Tennis . In 2013 she also won the junior doubles tournament of the Australian Open together with Ana Konjuh . In the world junior ranking list, she was ranked 9th.

She mostly competes in tournaments on the ITF Women's Circuit , where she has won two singles and six doubles titles so far. On the WTA Tour , she played in the main draw for the first time in 2013 at the Rogers Cup , after she had prevailed against Irina-Camelia Begu in qualifying .

After four finals with alternating partners in $ 25,000 tournaments, she was at number 157 in the double world rankings at the end of July 2016. Her best single position to date was reached in June 2018 with position 131.
