Demi Schuurs (born August 1, 1993 in Sittard ) is a Dutch tennis player .
Career
Schuurs, who started tennis at the age of five, prefers grass pitches according to the ITF profile. She mainly plays tournaments on the ITF Women's Circuit , where she has won one singles and 18 doubles so far.
Schuurs won her first victory on the WTA Tour alongside Angelique van der Meet at the lawn tournament in Rosmalen , where they advanced to round two with a wildcard. The following year she failed with doubles partner Alison Van Uytvanck at the same tournament in round one. In April 2015 she won her first tournament victory on the WTA Tour with Ysaline Bonaventure in Katowice . In July, Oksana Kalashnikova won the WTA title number two. Another title followed at the end of September 2017, before winning five double titles in the course of the 2018 season. In October 2018, she achieved her best position in the double world rankings with position 7 .
In 2012 she played for the Dutch Fed Cup team for the first time ; she has won her only Fed Cup game (double) so far.
Demi Schuurs has been playing for TK Blau-Weiss Aachen since 2013 , with whom she was promoted from the 2nd Bundesliga to the Bundesliga in 2013 and will play there from 2014 .
