Steffi Distelmans (born June 1, 1993 ) is a Belgian tennis player .

Career

Distelmans, who started playing tennis at the age of six, prefers clay courts. She mostly plays on the ITF Women's Circuit , where she has won one tournament in singles and seven in doubles.

She played her first ITF tournament in April 2009. Until July 2012, she was regularly eliminated in the first or second round of qualification. It was only in July 2012 after the $ 25,000 tournament in Zwevegem had reached the second round, it was first in the world rankings conducted. With the two semi-finals at the tournaments in Brussels and Maaseik in July 2012, she was able to place in the top 900 in the world. She reached one more semifinals before winning her first individual title in August 2014; in the final of Oldenzaal , she defeated Melanie Stokke just 5: 7, 6: 3 and 7: 6 5 . Even after that, she barely got past the semi-finals in $ 10,000 tournaments.

In the German tennis Bundesliga , Steffi Distelmans rose to the first division with TK Blau-Weiss Aachen in 2013 . After relegation, she joined the team in 2016 in the second division, where she made a significant contribution to Aachen's rise again with her record of 12-0 victories (she won all singles and doubles).

Distelmans played the last professional tournament for the time being in January 2017.
