Oksana Kalashnikova ( Georgian ოქსანა კალაშნიკოვა ; born September 5, 1990 in Tbilisi ) is a Georgian tennis player .
Career
Kalashnikova, who prefers grass or hard courts according to the ITF profile, won her first WTA title on November 11, 2012 . In the double final of the WTA tournament in Pune , an event of the newly introduced Challenger series, she defeated the pairing Julia Glushko / Noppawan Lertcheewakarn 6: 0, 4: 6 and [10: 8] alongside Nina Bratchikova .
On July 28, 2013, she won her first double title at a full tournament on the WTA Tour , when she defeated Eleni Daniilidou and Aleksandra Krunić with Iryna Buryatschok 4: 6, 7: 6, 3 and [10: 4]. At the French Open , she had previously reached the round of 16 of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time with doubles partner Alicja Rosolska ; there they lost to Kristina Mladenovic and Galina Woskobojewa with 1: 6, 1: 6. In Wimbledon the end came in round two and after the US Open she was in the top 50 of the double world rankings for the first time .
After she failed in qualifying for the WTA tournament in Baku in July 2015 , she only competed in doubles on the women's tour. At the WTA tournament in Seoul , she tried again in September 2016, but failed in the qualifying round.
Oksana Kalashnikova has been playing for the Georgian Fed Cup team since 2007 . In their Fed Cup balance sheet they have 17 wins and 13 losses.
