The 2012 Royal Indian Open was a women's hard court tennis tournament in Pune , India . It was part of the 2012 WTA Challenger Series as a Challenger category tournament . The tournament took place from November 5th to 11th, 2012. The tournament was held for the first time in 2012 as one of two WTA Challenger tournaments.

The individual winner was Elina Switolina , who beat Kimiko Date Krumm 6: 3, 6: 2 in the final . In doubles, the pairing Nina Bratchikova / Oksana Kalaschnikowa won against Julia Glushko / Noppawan Lertcheewakarn with 6: 0, 4: 6, [10: 8].
