Jelena Valeryevna Chalova ( Russian Елена Валерьевна Чалова , English transcription Elena Valeryevna Chalova ; born May 16, 1987 in Ufa , Soviet Union ) is a former Russian tennis player .

Career

Chalova, who loved to play hard courts, began playing tennis at the age of seven.

She won eight singles and nine doubles titles in the ITF Women's Circuit during her career . She was first seen on the WTA Tour at the Tashkent Open 2009 , together with Nikola Fraňková in doubles. They lost their first round game against Wolha Hawarzowa / Tazzjana Putschak with 2: 6 and 3: 6.

Her last tournament participation was in 2011 at an ITF tournament in Stockholm. She was eliminated in the first round in both singles and doubles.
