Yurika Sema ( Japanese 瀬 間 友 里加 , Sema Yurika ; born December 25, 1986 in Tokyo Prefecture ) is a former Japanese tennis player . Her younger sister Erika Sema also plays tennis professionally.
Career
Yurika Sema, who prefers hard courts, began playing tennis at the age of seven. So far she has won three singles and 14 doubles titles at the ITF Women's Circuit .
Only once, in 2009 at the US Open , she was able to qualify for the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament ; however, it did not get past the first round.
She played her first game for the Japanese Fed Cup team on February 3, 2010 against Indonesia. She won the doubles together with Rika Fujiwara against Sandy Gumulya and Jessy Rompies 6: 2 and 6: 2. She won three of her four Fed Cup games.
Her last appearance on the women's tour was in October 2015 at an ITF tournament in Brisbane.
