Rebecq or Rebecq-Rognon is a town in Belgium , about 30 km from Brussels.

Rebecq sub-municipalities are Bierk ( Bierghes ), Roosbeek ( Rebecq-Rognon ) and Quenast; the village of Wisbeke ( Wisbecq ) was taken over by the neighboring municipality of Tubize when Rebecq was founded in 1977 .

Rebecq was best known as the birthplace of Ernest Solvay , the industrially successful chemist . The co-founder of the Solvay factory was a socially minded patron of the company's workforce and also an education politician.
