Mont-Saint-Guibert ( Walloon Mont-Sint-Gubiet ) is a municipality in the French-speaking province of Walloon Brabant in Belgium . It consists of three districts : Mont-Saint-Guibert , Corbais and Hévillers , which were merged in the course of the territorial reform of 1977.

Geographical location

Mont-Saint-Guibert is located in the Orne Valley. The Orne rises near Gembloux and flows into the Thyle at Court-Saint-Etienne .

Municipal council

The council ( Conseil Communal ) has 17 members; from it the college with the mayor and four aldermen ( Echevins ) is formed.

coat of arms

Since January 7, 1952, Mont-Saint-Guibert bears the coat of arms of the Benedictine abbey of Gembloux, which was founded in the 10th century by St. Wigbert von Darnau (Guibert von Gorze ). The coat of arms is a green shield divided by a gold band with a six-pointed star in the right main part.
