Wolha Hawarzowa ( Belarusian Вольга Гаварцова ; Russian Ольга Говорцова ; English transcription Olga Govortsova ; born August 23, 1988 in Pinsk , then the Soviet Union) is a Belarusian tennis player .

Career

Hawarzowa began playing tennis at the age of six. She prefers hard courts for her game from the baseline. In 2002 she played her first tournament on the ITF Women's Circuit , and in 2003 she won her first ITF title.

In 2004 she made her debut at the tournament in Tashkent as a qualifier on the WTA Tour . She celebrated her greatest successes in the individual with the finals in Memphis (2008), Moscow (2009) and Ponte Vedra Beach (2010). Her best performance in Grand Slam tournaments was in Paris (2008 and 2009) and Melbourne (2012), when she made it into the third round there.

Hawarzowa has been playing for the Belarusian Fed Cup team since 2008 . She has won 25 of her 37 Fed Cup games to date.

On October 9, 2010 she won her fourth WTA double title, together with Chuang Chia-jung she defeated the pairing Gisela Dulko / Flavia Pennetta 7: 6 2 , 1: 6, [10: 7] in the finals in Beijing . At the tournament in Memphis in 2011 she won the final against the pairing Andrea Hlaváčková / Lucie Hradecká with Alla Kudrjawzewa 6: 3, 4: 6, [10: 8]. At the grass tournament in Birmingham the two celebrated a second time when they defeated Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci 1: 6, 6: 1, [10: 5] in the final. In 2011 she had another double title in New Haven at the side of Chuang Chia-jung with a final win against the same pairing.

In 2012 Hawarzowa won together with Klaudia Jans-Ignacik at the WTA tournament in Strasbourg , the preparatory tournament for the French Open, double title number eight. At the clay court tournament in Barcelona she then reached a quarter-finals in singles again after a long time (three set defeat against Sorana Cîrstea ). She confirmed this performance at the hard court tournament in New Haven (1: 6, 2: 6 against Maria Kirilenko). At the US Open she was in the third round for the first time in 2012.
