This article describes the women’s tournament of the China Open 2010 . It was the 10th edition of the tennis hard court tournament in Beijing and was a tournament of Premier Mandatory Category of the 2010 WTA Tour . The tournament took place from October 2nd to October 10th, 2010. The defending champion was Svetlana Kuznetsova , who was eliminated in the first round.

Thanks to Petra Kvitová , who won the round of 16 over the Czech Republic on October 7, 2010, Caroline Wozniacki from Denmark took over the top of the women's world rankings for the first time on October 11, 2010. She then also won the quarter and semi-finals, and finally sat in the final (6: 3.3: 6.6 : 3 against Vera Swonaryova ) through. It was her 12th title on the WTA Tour.

The final in women's doubles was won on October 9, 2010 by the unseeded team Chuang Chia-jung / Wolha Hawarzowa with 7: 6 2 , 1: 6, [10: 7] against the first-placed team Gisela Dulko / Flavia Pennetta. For Chuang it was the 15th double title and for Hawarzowa the 4th double title on the WTA tour.
