Badge "For excellent performance in removing the flood hazards in the Unstruttal"
The badge "For outstanding achievements in the elimination of the flood hazards in Unstruttal" was an award of the Free German Youth of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which was founded in 1955 and also awarded once this year. The award was made to FDJ members who were involved in the construction of the water protection structures in Unstruttal ( Thuringia ). The multi-colored enamelled badge shows a laurel wreath which is broken on its lower side by a banner, on which can be read FOR OUTSTANDING / OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE / IN THE / ELIMINATION OF / FLOOD HAZARDS / IN UNSTRUTTAL . The top of the badge is defined by two flags that protrude over the edge of the badge. The rear one is the flag of the GDR, which is almost completely covered by the blue FDJ flag above. In the center of the badge are two men in uniform, the one on the right shaking hands with the one on the left and knocking on his shoulder at the same time. The left man is holding a shovel in his left hand.
